The work
What you'll do on this crew
- Weld marine pipe on offshore-service and workboat construction in every position, 6G included
- Lay a TIG root, then fill and cap with stick, on carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, and copper-nickel
- Work off isometric drawings and fitted spools to ABS, AWS, and ASME code
- Take finished joints through hydro and X-ray
- Crew up with AMS pipefitters on the Houma Navigation Canal and in Larose and Galliano

- A passing AMS weld test: TIG root on 6G carbon steel, flux-core fill and cap
- Preferably five years or more welding pipe in shipyards or marine work
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
- TWIC card, or able to get one so you can enter the yards
- Pass a physical, a drug screen, and a respirator fit test before your first day
